The “Capacity building of the human rights activists and defenders” project jointly implemented by Soros Foundation Kazakhstan Law Reform program and Human Rights Initiative has started.
The project aims at effective observing human rights and fundamental freedoms through capacitating activists on defending human rights.
On 10-14 June 2013 the first out of three trainings will be held. More than 10 participants from regions of Kazakhstan take part in the training. Participants of the project will get knowledge and skills on monitoring and documenting human rights violations, advocating and conducting research. Trainings under the project will also include mechanism available through UN mechanisms and shadow reports such as Universal Periodical Review. The project will last one and a half year.
